Is Avatar (such a weak movie) really the “King of the World”? Not so much. Gone with the Wind sold an estimated 202M tickets. Avatar’s nearly $2B revenue is misleading because of inflation and higher 3D ticket sales.

I think it’s okay to ask, “How many people saw the movie?” I saw Avatar and walked away impressed with the effects, but not the shallow plot, the weak metaphysics (Oprah-esque), or that the leading lady was partially nude (computer generated breasts are still breasts) in almost every scene.
